Masked attackers open fire at Howrah Bankra panchayat office, injuring two

Masked assailants opened fire at the Panchayat office in Bankra, Howrah, sparking panic among government employees and locals. Eyewitnesses reported that three masked men arrived and fired four to five rounds, causing chaos in the area. 

Police reached the spot investigating the incident. According to the Panchayat head present during the attack, the assailants broke the office gate's glass and entered, firing shots. Fortunately, the Panchayat head's family members were injured, but they survived.

Till now three individuals suspected of involvement have been detained. Allegations suggest that the shooting was orchestrated under the direction of Sheikh Sajid, who is believed to be associated with a local MLA. The incident has left the community shaken, leading to public outrage and the vandalization of Sheikh Sajid's residence.
